ChessCraft

ChessCraft is a revolutionary chess sandbox that lets you break free from traditional chess. With a powerful AI opponent, you can customize boards, rules, and pieces to create your own unique chess variants. Share your creations online and challenge friends or the computer.

Create new pieces using any combination of bishop or rook slides, plus a 7x7 grid of knight-like hops. Pieces can also enhance or restrict nearby pieces, adding strategic depth. Design boards with any enabled or disabled tile up to 16x16, and set promotion rules for any piece, anywhere. Add special tile rules like witch windows (teleporters) and sanctuaries.

The AI opponent uses concepts from computer science and graph theory to understand your creations and provide a challenging game. When you share a board, friends can play against the AI too, with a dedicated web page for your design.
