Kentucky Route Zero

Kentucky Route Zero is a magical realist adventure game about a secret highway in the caves beneath Kentucky and the mysterious people who travel it. As twilight falls and familiar roads become strange, those who are lost may find their way to a hidden route that winds through the underground.

Along this highway, you'll meet a cast of unforgettable characters: an aging driver making the last delivery for a doomed antique shop, a young woman who repairs obsolete TVs surrounded by ghosts, a child with a giant eagle companion, robot musicians, and an invisible power company that lurks everywhere. Their stories intertwine in a haunting narrative about debt, community, and resilience.

The game features a striking visual style inspired by theater, film, experimental electronic art, and video game history. Its haunting electronic score is complemented by hymns and bluegrass standards recorded by The Bedquilt Ramblers. Originally released episodically, all five acts and interludes are now available together, offering a complete and immersive experience.
