In this text-based RPG, you are a young necromancer exploring the ruins of San Francisco centuries after a cataclysm. The world is overrun by goblins, ogres, and dragons—creatures once thought to be mere myths, now terrifyingly real. Inspired by tabletop RPGs like Dungeon World, the game focuses on narrative and choice, with dynamic combat simulated down to individual body parts. You can cleave off a limb and use it as a weapon, while a natural language generation system describes the action in plain English.
Every decision matters, and mistakes in battle can cost you recruits in your party. The world is alive and continues without you, with much of the text generated on the fly. Gameplay is quick and immersive, with automatic saving and no loading screens. It's a short experience, about 90 minutes, created by a dedicated writer-programmer and illustrator. The focus is on storytelling and consequences, not numbers or tactical maps, making it feel like a session with a dungeon master.
