Retro Commander

Retro Commander is a post-apocalyptic real-time strategy wargame where you command forces in a world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. Engage in solo skirmishes against AI or compete in cross-platform multiplayer matches. Form teams and clans to fight cooperatively with AI and other players for ultimate victory.

Unlike other RTS games, Retro Commander focuses on both a fun single-player experience and a thrilling multiplayer mode. It features an easy-to-learn interface with a modern UI. The single-player mode offers skirmish matches against AI and a comic-based story campaign. Multiplayer supports cross-platform play and includes a ranking and rating system.

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic timeline on Earth, with dynamic environments including day-night cycles, rain, snow, wind, and solar flare activity. A deep story campaign explores humanity's struggle after the cataclysm, with factions possessing unique technologies such as stealth, robots, drones, or shields.

Play modes include regular skirmishes, elimination, survival, capture the flag, defense, and battle royale, available in both single and multiplayer. Additional missions like escort and rescue are also present. Common troops for land, sea, and air warfare are available to all factions, along with specialized units like stealth, shields, EMP weapons, nukes, portals, orbital weapons, and assimilators. A tech tree and research options allow for specialized structures and troops, and a Tech Snatcher can steal enemy technology. A map editor is included for player-modded maps and campaigns, with all elements moddable.
