Sound Meter

Sound Meter is a simple yet effective app that turns your smartphone into a sound pressure level meter. It uses your device's built-in microphone to measure ambient noise in decibels and displays the results on a clear, easy-to-read interface. Whether you're curious about the noise from your neighbors or want to check if your TV is too loud, this app provides a handy reference.

Keep in mind that most smartphone microphones are designed for voice calls, with a frequency range of 300-3400Hz and a maximum level of around 40-60dB. This means very loud sounds above 100dB may not be accurately recognized, and the maximum measurable value varies by device. The app has been calibrated for major Android devices using a professional sound meter, so you can trust its readings in typical noise environments between 40 and 70dB.

The app includes several useful features such as an upside-down mode for flexible viewing, level notifications, a line-chart to track duration, and a modern Material design. For even more functionality, the Pro version offers an ad-free experience, a vibrometer, a statistics menu, and CSV export.
