The Cult

The Cult is a social deduction game designed for 4 to 10 players. Each participant is secretly assigned a role belonging to either the village or the cult. The village aims to complete quests successfully, while the cult seeks to sabotage them. The game unfolds over five rounds, with a new leader each round selecting players to embark on a quest. Those chosen must decide whether the quest succeeds or fails, and their votes are cast secretly. Only the overall result of each quest is revealed to all players, adding layers of mystery and deception.

Players on the village team are required to vote for quests to succeed, while cult members have the freedom to choose. To win, the village must successfully complete at least three quests. The cult, meanwhile, must prevent this from happening. The hidden identities and secret voting create a tense atmosphere where trust is scarce and every decision matters.

An optional but highly recommended role is the seer, who belongs to the village and knows which players are cult members. The seer can use this knowledge to guide quests and influence outcomes. However, the cult has a final chance to win: at the end of the game, they may vote on who they believe the seer is. If they correctly identify the seer, the cult claims victory. This adds a thrilling endgame twist, as the seer must balance using their knowledge and staying hidden.
