XESS

XESS is a strategy game that reinvents chess with wild twists. It features 16 characters or factions, each with unique units and setups, including two that represent regular chess and shogi. This diversity ensures every match feels fresh and unpredictable.

To further customize your strategy, you can select one of 7 relics that complement your units. Additionally, you have 4 spells at your disposal, two from your chosen character and two from your relic. These spells are powered by collecting blood, a resource that spawns nearby when a unit is captured, adding a layer of tactical resource management.

Victory can be achieved in multiple ways: by capturing the opponent's king (or destroying every unit if their faction lacks a king), or by holding the center tile for a certain amount of time. This dual win condition keeps matches tense and offers alternative paths to success.

The game includes online multiplayer, puzzle levels, a short story mode, an endless challenge mode, and an AI for versus play. Whether you prefer competitive matches or solo challenges, XESS provides a variety of ways to enjoy its unique take on chess.
